Joy Pilkington - kennel "Javarke"

Hello, my name is Joy Pilkington, I live with my husband Lee, our two sons and our bullies in Hartlepool, which is on the North East coast of England.

Our kennel affix is Javarke and was registered with the UK kennel club in 1996. We acquired our first Bull Terrier in 1995 and had our first litter in 1997.

We breed usually 1 or 2 litters a year, concentrating on quality not quantity. Health and temperament are of the up most importance in our breeding program, our aim is to produce Bull terriers as close to the breed standard as possible in all respects.
Our greatest success, in our relatively short but fruitful breeding careers, was breeding CH Javarke Jack Flash in 1999. We campaigned Maverick throughout 2000 and into 2001, he has won 4 CC's, 3 with B.O.B & 1 RCC. Also to his credit B.O.B at Crufts in 2001. The Sandawana Trophy for best coloured Bull Terrier in Britain for 2000, and The Runner Up Ormandy Jug, for reserve best dog in Britain in 2001. To finish it off, Maverick has been tested healthy in all respects & has a superb temperament.
Maverick lives with us at home along with him mother Majico Air Of Permanance - Kiera, and his full & half sisters Javarke Dream weaver - Bliss, Javarke Mystique - Lara and Javarke Irrisistible - Tanga.

Also Javarke Mr Jingles - Ted, who is being campaigned in America at the moment.

Our favourite's would have to be Kiera, our foundation bitch for making it all possible & Maverick for making our dreams come true. There are so many other kennels, all of which have their qualities and some have produced outstanding Bull Terriers which have had an enormous impact on the breed today. Our favourite kennels would have to be firstly Majico.

Without which Javarke wouldn't be what it is today. The Majico bullies have bags of style, along with immense power and substance, while retaining good confirmation and movement and above all they reproduce it. Our other all time favourite, for consistently producing top class Bull Terriers with type, superb construction, movement and that timeless expression would have to be the Aricon kennel. Most of the late Aricon dogs we have unfortunately only seen in photos, and studied in books and pedigrees, but we have had the privilege to see some of the more recent dogs in the flesh. The Aricon dogs have had such a huge impact on Bull Terriers world wide.

Our future plans... We will continue to do what we love, which is to breed and exhibit this fantastic breed, along the way making new friends from around the world, and hopefully continuing to producing quality, healthy Bull Terriers with superb temperaments, that leave their mark upon the breed for generations to come...
