1. YES to sleeping on your bed while you reading, watching TV or similar, NO to sleeping on your bed while you sleep also. When dog sleeps besides you he feels like he's a member of your pack, when he sleeps while you're sleeping also, he feels that he's a leader of your pack.

2. YES to dog's meal after your meal, NO to dog's meal before your meal. In wolf pack leader always eats first. This is especially related to those who feed the dog lest he won't bother them during lunch or supper. Is out there anyone who succeed in this trick? ;-)

3. YES for you to first get out of car, apartment, across street, NO for your dog to first get out of car, apartment, across the street. Same case as foregoing. Leader of the pack do what his title signify to do - lead.

4. YES to playing with dog as "human to dog". NO to playing with dog as "dog to dog". I often see people playing scrambling with dog with some rag or piece of wood so dog thinks that he's playing with another dog, i.e. puts you in position equal with him. Maybe next time he'd like to play harder with you "face to face", like puppies "playing". Rather play with him a game of retrieving or gumption (set him a task: to search for his favorite toy or similar).

5. YES to running from your dog when he won't come, NO to running and catching the dog. Have you ever been in situation to call your dog and he pretends that he's deaf. It sounds familiar, doesn't it? Biggest mistake is to come to him with words "come, come, come, come..." 500 times "come". The key is to make him interested in you, and you'll accomplish that if you run from him or hide. Believe me, to bullie there's no greater punishment than to be left by his owner... except if... he hasn't already become... your owner.
